Licensure
Current Arizona RN licensure preferred when the incumbent is a registered nurse.
Certifications
✓Must meet applicable federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements for hospice leadership.
Certification in hospice and palliative care, healthcare administration, healthcare quality, healthcare leadership, or comparable specialty preferred
Education
✓Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or related field required.
Qualifications
✓Seven (7) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience required, including at least three (3) years in hospice, palliative care, home health, post-acute care, serious illness care, or closely related clinical operations.
✓Demonstrates strong operational judgment, visible and present people leadership, financial and regulatory accountability, physician and clinical team credibility, data-driven decision-making, and commitment to hospice philosophy, patient dignity, family support, ethical practice, and continuous
✓Knowledge of hospice philosophy, end-of-life care, symptom management, goals-of-care communication, caregiver support, bereavement, and interdisciplinary care planning.
✓Knowledge of CMS Hospice Conditions of Participation, Medicare hospice benefit requirements, state regulations, accreditation standards, HIPAA, documentation requirements, and survey readiness practices.
✓Knowledge of healthcare operations, patient flow, transitions of care, discharge planning, case management, inpatient hospice coordination, and community-based service delivery.
✓Skill in leading interdisciplinary teams, developing leaders, coaching performance, resolving conflict, and creating a culture of accountability, compassion, and service excellence.
✓Skill in budget development, productivity management, labor planning, census forecasting, vendor oversight, and data-driven operational decision-making.
