Director of Emergency Department – RN Department: Emergency Services Salary: $100,340.00 to $135,055.00 Annually
Days, Exempt Facility: St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, Chicago, IL 60622 The Director of Emergency Department (ED) is a Registered Nurse responsible for the clinical and operational leadership of Emergency Services, with 24-hour accountability for the department. Responsibilities Reporting to the CNO or Administrator, this leader oversees patient care, nursing staff, ED operations, staffing, quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement.
Lead daily clinical and operational functions of the Emergency Department Supervise, develop, and evaluate ED nursing staff. Oversee staffing, productivity, patient flow, throughput, and resource utilization. Drive quality, patient safety, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.
Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital administration to improve ED operations and patient outcomes. Provide leadership during emergencies, critical events, and hospital codes. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, and patient-centered care. #LI-TA1 Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.
Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse. 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate upon hire and maintain current.4.
Current PALS upon hire and maintain current.5. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.6. A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.7.
