Medical Center of the Rockies is home to Northern Colorado’s only Level I Trauma Center, serving patients across Northern Colorado, southern Wyoming, and western Nebraska. Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where highly skilled teams come together to provide exceptional care to patients with a wide range of emergency and complex medical needs. A Regional Destination for Emergency and Trauma Care As the region's highest-level trauma center, the MCR Emergency Department cares for some of the most critically ill and injured patients across a large geographic area. Our team works closely with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, specialty services, critical care teams, EMS partners, law enforcement, and regional transport services to provide coordinated care when patients need it most.
Our emergency care capabilities are supported by 24/7 access to emergency and trauma expertise, specialty services, critical care transport, Lifeline helicopter support, and strong EMS partnerships. For emergency nurses, this means an opportunity to develop and continually expand advanced clinical skills while caring for a remarkably diverse and high-acuity patient population. Growing to Meet the Needs of Our Community Medical Center of the Rockies continues to grow alongside the communities we serve.
A recent major Emergency Department expansion added 22 beds, bringing the department to a total of 42 ED rooms and increasing our ability to care for the growing number of patients who rely on MCR for emergency services. Our growth is more than adding space. It reflects our commitment to expanding access, improving patient care, and preparing for the future needs of our region.

Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience. State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). 6 months of nursing (RN) experience. ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
Advanced CPI, TNCC/ATCN, and ENPC within 1 year of hire. Registered Nurse Advanced Cardiac Life Support Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course PALS Certification Trauma Nurse Core Course BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
