You’ll need
Licensure
✓Or an accredited LVN program as evidenced by licensure.
✓EMT certification or Licensed Paramedic
✓Or current California LVN licensure with IV certification
✓Phlebotomy State Certification (if not licensed paramedic or LVN with IV cert)
Certifications
✓Education supplemented by vocational training in para-medical program (EMT-1 or Paramedic).
✓Previous experience as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-1, paramedic or LVN) preferred but not required.
✓BLS certification through AHA
✓Basic EMT procedures.
Basic arrhythmia (preferred)
Education
✓Education supplemented by vocational training in para-medical program (EMT-1 or Paramedic). Or an accredited LVN program as evidenced by licensure.
Qualifications
✓Anatomy and physiology
✓Medical modalities.
✓Modern office equipment, information system and software programs
✓Report writing.
✓Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
✓Keep abreast of developments in the field of expertise.
✓Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
✓Prepare necessary reports and records.
✓Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.
✓AGE OF PATIENTS COMPETENCIES (if applicable)
✓Maintains, demonstrates and is assessed on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the physical, psychosocial and cultural needs appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
