✓Requirements
Licensure
✓State licensure/certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or higher in the appropriate state of practice
✓Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as verified through appropriate licensing agency
✓All Wisconsin location staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin
Certifications
✓Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month of hire
✓Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health’s insurer
Qualifications
✓State background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults
✓NIMS 100, 200, 700
✓Over 75 years of age require medical permission
✓Drivers 21 years and older with EMS licensure, must meet MVR requirements
✓Drivers 18-20 with EMS licensure, must meet MVR requirements of Young Driver Probation AND will be placed in Young Driver Probation (MVR every 6 months and completed probation form)

About the role

Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls, assesses the situation, assesses and treats patients for emergency needs; reports patient information to medical staff in a timely and accurate manner. Obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and assesses the situation's urgency and seriousness. Provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital.
