You’ll need
Licensure
✓Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required
Certifications
✓Job title and compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and certifications
✓Your Role as an EMT
✓As an EMT at UPMC, you will provide transport and basic life support care in the pre-hospital setting.
✓Must be certified in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
✓AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (or equivalent CPR certification) required
✓Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO/EVOC) certification
✓Candidates will be placed in the appropriate role and compensation level based on education, experience, and certifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Qualifications
✓A two-year work commitment is required with acceptance of the sign-on bonus
✓This includes wheelchair, stretcher van, and ambulance transports for both emergency and non-emergency patients.
✓Prior ambulance and/or hospital experience preferred , but not required
✓Valid Driver’s License required
✓Completion of a Pennsylvania Department of Health–approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) required within 90 days of hire
✓Ability to meet all state and organizational requirements for emergency medical services personnel
