Financial Counselor - PRN

Responsibilities TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians. The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services. The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents.

The program provides rural acute care hospitals with a range of opportunities for service enhancement and quality of care improvement. Quality healthcare and patient safety is our goal. This position is responsible for all account billing, collections and follow-up including communication with all parties who may have a bearing on account resolution. The financial counselor will assist patients and/or family members regarding billing and payment issues. Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training Education

High School or equivalent

One year of billing, collection, or related business office experience in a healthcare environment License / Certification: None Knowledge /

• Basic PC experience, 10-key calculator, keyboarding, and use of other office machines such as copier, fax, etc. Knowledge of third-party payers - Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance.
