Responsible for every phase of hospice contract development from researching the legal regulations to negotiating the terms and preparing the print document. ResponsibilitiesPrepares contractual agreements using current research methods and a knowledge of a stakeholder's needs and ability to fulfill its requirements. Collaborates with legal team to review redlines proposed by vendor that create additional company risk.
Ensures that the terms of contractual agreements are written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with the desires of the stakeholder. Assists stakeholder to fulfill the terms of or to terminate contracts on mutually amicable terms. Reviews contract terms and conditions of participation to verify that they follow company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations.
Clearly explains contract terminology to stakeholder and other interested parties in simple, everyday language. Self-monitors progress according to the schedule of completion to submit drafts and documents in a timely manner. Proofreads, edits, and fact-checks legal documents for accuracy and consistency, according to a style guide if provided by the client.
Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory mandates including but not limited to abiding to the terms of the Amedisys Compliance Program. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Procurement/Purchasing, and/or Supply Chain, and/or Paralegal, and/or Legal; and/or Supply Chain/Contract certification within one year of start dateTwo (2+) years of experience working directly with contract lawPreferredCertified Supply Chain/Contract ProfessionalAmedisys is an equal opportunity employer.
