Responsible for supervising nursing units in the absence of unit managers. Active participant of calculating and monitoring Hours Per Patient Days along with acuity of patients, in relationship to staffing units accurately, safely, and cost effective under the direction of the unit manager. Utilizes nursing personnel effectively, assists with required scheduling, staffing and assignments, and collaborates with other department managers/supervisors/charge to ensure smooth coordination of services to patients, enhances patient flow within the facility, and efficient admission/discharge/transfer processes Receives report from off-going shift, give report to oncoming shift, and makes rounds Open on-going dialog with unit managers.
