Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Clinical Instructor’s role is to teach basic life support programs, assists in course set up and coordination. The clinical instructor is also responsible for teaching all levels of clinical, and EMS personnel the theory and practice of ECG/EKG. The clinical instructor possesses considerable knowledge of and experience in emergency medical services/critical care theory skills, and practices.

High School Diploma or GED and completion of a paramedic course certified BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor. Required
Two (2) years of EMS paramedic field experience, including ECG/EKG teaching experience. [HR may accept two (2) years of EMS, emergency room (ER), or intensive care unit (ICU) registered nursing experience (including ECG/EKG teaching experience) in lieu of two (2) years of EMS paramedic field experience.] Required Certification/License/Registry: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support/Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor status/ Current Florida Paramedic licensure.
