US:NV:Carson City Imaging Administration Per Diem Summary The Imaging Clerk processes and maintains patient health information in both electronic and paper formats. This position works collaboratively with other members of the department to complete all essential responsibilities in a timely fashion to meet the quality, utilization, and financial needs of the organization. The Imaging Clerk ensures patient health information is accurate, timely, and kept confidential.
The Imaging Clerk is responsible for coordinating Release of Information functions and works collaboratively with facility staff to ensure requests are completed utilizing minimum necessary standards. The IC ensures requests for release of medical record information are in compliance with HIPAA, facility policy, and other regulatory standards and ensures requests processed are completed accurately and timely. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent One (1) year computer experience Experience in customer service environment Ability to manage the demands of high volume and multi-task environment with great attention to detail Preferred One (1) year radiology or medical office experience Knowledge of medical terminology and/or anatomy and physiology
Maintains department specific logs, record preparation, and statistical tracking as defined by department protocol. Monitors distribution of patient reports making sure all reports are delivered to the physician in a timely manner Coordinates and distributes records received to be prepped, scanned, indexed, or quality reviewed. Tracks receipt of incoming patient information to be imported into PACS.
Coordinates and prepares paper documentation. Ensures documents are appropriate for scanning per department guidelines. Fulfills requests from external parties for internal imaging exams Works proficiently with various pieces of office equipment, ensuring equipment is producing quality results.
Performs simple trouble shooting of equipment, software, and scanners. Processes release of information requests. Sends patient information to requestors in an accurate, timely, and confidential manner per protocol, state and federal laws.
Ascertains the purpose for which information is being requested; verifies that a valid authorization is obtained with each ROI request. Prioritizes incoming requests: emergency, continuity of care, legal etc. Takes department phone messages as needed, and routes calls appropriately.
