Duties: Inpatient Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Technician Perform sterile compounding according to policy and regulations including USP 797 and USP 800.
Maintain competency in use of all equipment and programs related to performing sterile compounding. Participate in medication management for pharmacy compounding, including medication and supply ordering, receiving, and maintenance. Troubleshoot equipment, hardware, and software issues relating to compounding.
Participate in completing and documenting all cleaning and monitoring activities identified for areas related to sterile compounding. Practice critical and focused thinking and perform calculations as needed to validate activities. Work within a team to triage and respond to all compounding needs in a timely manner, following supervisor shift pharmacists' oversight.
Maintain ongoing didactic and practical training as related to sterile compounding.
Minimum of 18 years of age required. High school education or equivalent required. Registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.
Pharmacy Technician Certification within 12 months of licensed date required. Internal Aseptic Technique training completed within two weeks of hire required.
I npatient pharmacy department experience in sterile compounding preferred. Hazardous medication and/or total parenteral nutrition (TPN) compounding experience preferred. Nebraska Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
