Collect, prepare, process, and store human biological specimens, including blood and body fluids, for laboratory analysis. Perform routine laboratory procedures related to microbiological, hematological, immunohematological, and chemical testing. Release and place laboratory orders using hospital and laboratory computer systems.

Receive, process, and distribute patient specimens and blood products. Perform preanalytical laboratory functions, including loading specimens onto analyzers. Prepare slides for staining and microscopic examination.

Prepare and package specimens for transportation to outside or reference laboratories. Follow established laboratory procedures and safety protocols to ensure accurate specimen handling and processing. High School graduate or equivalentRequires completion of phlebotomy training program or 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience (clinical or hospital based preferred). In addition, one or more of the following is preferred:Graduation from a certified health-related program at high school level or above; ORSuccessful completion of Advanced Placement courses in the sciences at the high school level; ORSuccessful completion of science based studies at college level (minimum 3 credit hours).

Prefer GPA of 3.0 or above. Must have computer operational skills using a personal computer, laboratory system or other hospital information system. Applicant should display initiative, have the ability to multitask and be able to take on responsibilities.

Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential. Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current CPR certification is required.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Not provided.
