As a Lead Sterile Processing Technician, you will: Lead evening shift operations and help oversee departmental workflow in the absence of leadership. Coordinate the flow of instruments through decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution. Serve as a trusted liaison between Sterile Processing and the Operating Room to ensure seamless support of surgical services.
Train, mentor, and onboard new team members while promoting continuous learning and professional development. Assist with staffing assignments and workflow management to meet daily operational demands. Troubleshoot and maintain sterilization and decontamination equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor sterilization parameters and quality control processes to maintain compliance and patient safety. Support inventory management, instrument tracking, specialty tray maintenance, and case cart preparation. Collaborate on process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce instrument errors, and improve service delivery.
Serve as a resource for staff, physicians, and internal customers by providing guidance and operational support. High School Graduate or equivalent. Two years of central sterile processing experience required. OR Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician/Sterile Processing program with two years of central sterile processing experience required.
Annual Project Required. Must complete 10 hours of continuing education to remain qualified as a Central Sterile Technician on an annual basis. Must be able to stand for all shift hours and be able to pick up, push, pull etc. 35 pounds.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or Certified Registered Central Service Technician with Healthcare Sterile Processing Association. Certification required in our PA and NY facilities (MD is excluded).
