The Lead Medical Assistant is the on-site clinical operations leader responsible for executing the Duly Primary Care model at the clinic level. This role ensures high-functioning care teams, optimal provider support, and consistent delivery of access, productivity, and patient experience outcomes. The Lead directly supports providers while leading day-to-day clinical workflows, coaching Medical Assistants (MAs), and driving accountability to performance standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESProvides direct clinical support to providers, including rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and completing clinical tasksSupports efficient patient flow and helps maintain an organized clinical environmentCoordinates day-to-day activities within the care team to ensure smooth clinic operationsServes as a resource for Medical Assistants, offering guidance, direction, and supportAssists with onboarding, training, and development of clinical staffReinforces standard workflows and promotes consistency across the teamMaintains adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and documentation requirementsCollaborates with providers, clinic leadership, and front desk staff to support a cohesive patient experienceCommunicates effectively across teams and escalates issues as appropriateSupports implementation of workflow improvements and organizational initiativesSupports management of in-basket work, prior authorizations, referrals, and general patient communications to ensure timely completionAssists with phone support and coordination of patient access needs, in partnership with clinic leadershipWorks with providers to assist with patient outreach, including scheduling follow-ups and preparing patient communications as neededReviews reports and workflows to ensure processes are being followed and operational expectations are metEnsures co-pays are compliantly collected and cash handling processes are followed, including reconciliation and depositsConducts routine walk-throughs of the clinic to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment, including monitoring for expired medications and proper disposal practicesSupports training and reinforcement of regulatory and compliance requirements, including ensuring required certifications are currentMonitors clinic support functions such as transportation and housekeeping as applicableAssists with team scheduling and coordination, including input on staffing needs, overtime, and time-off requestsCollaborates with clinic leadership and administrative teams on operational planning and executionQualifications &
High School diploma or GED and a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Paramedic program required. Certified or registered preferred but not necessaryCPR Certification requiredA minimum of 2 years MA/CMA experience preferably in the medical field. The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $23.76-26.03/hour for a Lead Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Lead Medical Assistant the base pay range is $24.76-27.03/hour, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
