In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Participates in assessment of patientCollaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of careFollows patient’s plan of care while participating in the direct nursing care to assigned patientsAdjusts care based upon age-specific physiological needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse or other authorized person(s)Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient careAdministers medication as ordered by physicianFacilitates a safe environmentRecognizes life-threatening situations and responds appropriatelyMaintains required competenciesParticipates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors the quality of careEstablishes collaborative interpersonal relationships with other Health System staffSupports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of the medical regimenActively participates in cost containment and completes accurate charging for patient servicesActively demonstrates responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP), if applicableOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent requiredCurrent licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensureUnit Description:7 South is a 33-bed unit with all private rooms.
Our Care team consists of Registered Nurses, a Clinical Educator, Nursing Assistants, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Dieticians and Occupational and Speech Therapists. New Graduate Nurses are accepted! Our Patients include Adult and Geriatric patients.
