The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Doctor (MD) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide developmentally appropriate and age-specific direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting serving patients. Performs designated procedures and treatments which require knowledge and technical expertise within the LVN scope of practice and in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, techniques, and guidelines.
Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms of complications and/or allergic reactions immediately to the RN, MD, or NP. Exhibits mission-focused thinking and understands the sensitivity of specific diagnosis and expresses kindness when communicating with patients facing the unknown of a serious critical illness. Orients patients to the clinic routine and prepares patients for examination and/or treatment.
Assists MD or NP with examination and procedures as requested. Ensures insurance authorizations, tests results, appropriate coding, and other required information is available for the provider for review. Follows-up on designated case management and navigation activities as requested by the RN, MD, or NP.
Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. The duties outlined in this
will be an important part of our Hospital Outpatient Department strategy for the delivery of care that is consistent with our mission, vision, and values. This role is therefore accountable to the governance structure of the (Loma Linda University Medical Center) (Loma Linda University Children's Hospital). Performs other duties as needed.
Education and
Graduate of a school of vocational nursing required. Minimum six months experience as an LVN or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in an outpatient clinic required. Knowledge and

Licensures and
Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
