Manager, Business Planning & Development (Full-Time, 40, Day)

• Responsibilities I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serves a resource to the Director, Strategic Planning and executive management for data research and evaluation of business opportunities available to The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS).
• Supports the evaluation of initiatives through Return on Investment (ROI) and outcomes tracking.
• Responsible for the system-wide QHS Capital Management process.
• Supervises and mentors Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) staff as related to business planning projects. II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Frequent: walking.
• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
• Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax and printer. III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. IV.

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Hospital Administration or related field; or four (4) years relevant business or healthcare experience may be substituted for the educational requirement. B.

• In addition to the educational requirement, minimum five (5) years business planning and/or development experience with at least two (2) years experience in financial analysis.
• Two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience to demonstrate the following: o Knowledge and applied experience in financial analysis and data research. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. o Strong communication skills both oral and written with the ability to convey technical and data issues with internal stakeholders. o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/clients simultaneously while ensuring quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. o Experience with healthcare data (ICD-9, CPT, DRG) within a hospital, healthcare payor, and/or health care services organization.
• Knowledge of healthcare reform initiatives and impacts highly preferred.
• Project management and solution delivery experience in healthcare, operations management and/or consulting preferred.
