✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Must have completed an accredited nursing program and possess a valid nursing license for the state of Iowa.
Certifications
✓Completed Basic Certified Life Support certification prior to hire, completion of the unit based course, “Management of patients receiving chemotherapy”, upon 1 year from hire, and annually thereafter, 1 hour of stroke education to be completed by the end of orientation and then bi-annually
Education
✓Minimum of BSN and 5 years Department leadership experience.
Qualifications
✓Basic computer knowledge.
✓Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
✓Must be able to meet the competency of unit assigned to and also be able to successfully complete orientation.
✓Ability to move and lift patients and use appropriate equipment.
✓Must legally perform the essential functions of the job in accordance with the nurse practice act, able to demonstrate the necessary skills and competencies to include medication administration and nursing competencies.
✓Ability to document information accurately.
✓Effective interpersonal relationships and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written).
✓Able to read, write, comprehend and speak English.
