Education Graduate from an accredited program for medical assistants. Experience / QualificationsBLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
Medical Assistance Certification preferred. Minimum of One year experience in a medical office setting preferred. Must have experience in medical assisting.
Experience as a medical assistant, patient care skills, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Must possess computer skills and customer service skills.
Detail oriented and self-motivated.
The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled specialist who assists the physician in all aspects of the medical practice under the direct responsibility of the physician. Responsibilities include assisting with the patient care management, executes administrative and clinical procedures and performs supervisory functions pertaining to position. Competency requires that the medical assistant adheres to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize and respond to emergencies and demonstrates professional characteristics.
