MID - 2:00PM - 10:00PM The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the Nurse Manager or Nursing Director by providing clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff within the assigned area. This role assists with daily operations, staff development, performance management, budgeting, and initiatives that promote high-quality, patient-centered care. ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesProvides supervision, clinical expertise, and leadership to nursing staff.
Assists with hiring and personnel management activities. Conducts employee evaluations and supports ongoing staff development. Assists with orientation and onboarding of new employees.
Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives. Assists with development and management of departmental budgets. Promotes excellent customer service and a positive patient experience.
Supports the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. QualificationsMinimum QualificationsAge of Patients ServedAll age groupsEducationAssociateās Degree requiredGraduate of an accredited school of nursingNew hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire or transferEmployees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, must follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter and
Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfatheredPreferred: BSN or Bachelorās Degree in a related healthcare fieldRequired SkillsKnowledge of Joint Commission Standards and Nursing StandardsDemonstrated clinical nursing skillsStrong customer service skillsBasic computer literacyStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective problem-solving and decision-making skillsLicensure & CertificationsLicensed to practice nursing in the State of FloridaBLS from the American Heart Association required for all areasACLS, PALS, NRP, AWHONN FHM, and/or STABLE required based on assigned department and within the designated timeframeProfessional certification required within two (2) years of hire or transfer, or within the specified timeframe once certification eligibility requirements are metRequired Experience3ā5 years of experience as a practicing RN in an acute-care setting
