Primary Duties: Performs MRI examinations across diverse patient populations, applying appropriate technical factors, patient positioning, imaging protocols, and clinical knowledge to ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
Screens and prepares patients for MRI procedures, verifies orders and patient histories, administers contrast, establishes IV access, and provides education and support to promote patient safety and comfort. Maintains MRI safety standards by following institutional protocols, screening patients and personnel, preventing ferromagnetic hazards, and adhering to regulatory and professional guidelines. Performs quality assurance activities, monitors equipment performance, maintains supplies, reports malfunctions, and participates in departmental performance improvement and staff education initiatives.
Coordinates patient flow and care with interdisciplinary teams, documents procedures in electronic health records, ensures timely image transfer to PACS, and communicates professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
Associate’s degree (Required) Certificate in radiologic technology, or MRI, from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). (Required) Prior work experience not required. Experience in MRI or other imaging modalities; completed an MRI certificate or cross-training program Licenses/
