Navigator RN The Oncology Navigator functions on the multidisciplinary care team as an advocate, interpreter, educator and counselor for Providence St. Mary Medical Regional Cancer Center patients. The Navigator serves as a single point of contact for referring physicians, patients, and caregivers to provide resources and assistance with accessing clinical and supportive care services offer within PSMRCC and in the community.
The Navigator is responsible for ensuring all oncology patients receive quality and comprehensive services. The Navigator will coordinate patient care throughout the continuum, from diagnosis through and including survivorship, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and serves as a clinical resource with expertise in oncology care management. This position acts as a liaison thought out the facility and in the community regarding services provided for this unique patient population and will provide expert nursing care, which includes: screenings, consultations, diagnosis education, and research.
Navigation primary service lines are focused on Women (breast, cervix), Men (prostate, GU) and Head/Neck (lung,oral). Other cancer types will be distributes across the three lines of care. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable.
