ELLIS HOSPITAL POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Neurodiagnostic Technician DEPARTMENT: Neurology Department (Radiology Department) REPORTS TO: Lead Neurology EEG Technician SECTION I BASIC FUNCTION: Under indirect supervision, the Neurodiagnostic Technician Level III performs routine and complex studies in all of the following Neurodiagnostic Laboratories (EEG, Ambulatory EEG and Evoked Potential). The technician possesses knowledge of necessary departmental equipment and techniques used.

The technician is responsible for proper equipment upkeep and maintenance while ensuring a clean, organized work area. SECTION II EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent required ABRET certification required or obtained within 24 months from hire date Knowledge of Neurodiagnostic testing required Direct patient care experience required SECTION III: PHYSICAL

The position is located indoors under normal working conditions. Should be able to push/pull 25 lb., lift/move 15 lb. from floor to table, be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a key board, writing and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to sit at a computer terminal or work station for a prolonged period of time in addition to being able to squat, stand and walk for a reasonable length of time and distance.
