In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Assist in the admission of patients to the unit to include orientation to the unit, hospital routine and patient care equipmentRespond to patients needs with direct assistance by reporting patient need to the appropriate personAssist with implementation of nursing plan of care by carrying out delegated patient care tasksAssist in maintaining patient safety to include the proper use of equipment and suppliesAccess to medication/supply room to retrieve patient care items for use as applicable per unitMaintain a well-stocked, clean patient environmentActively participate in cost containment and assist in accurate charging for patient servicesParticipate in educational and Performance Improvement activitiesDemonstrate responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacityMay perform additional NA II clinical skills approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing after continuing education and/or competency validationOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent requiredCurrent registration with the NC Board of Nursing as Nursing Assistant ISuccessful completion of the first semester in an accredited school of nursingWork
