Job OverviewJob OverviewFairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, MN, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for our Family Medicine Department to join our multi-specialty practice. This unique position combines in-basket management with direct patient care. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians and other advanced practice providers to enhance access, improve continuity, and ensure high-quality care for our established patient population.
Our physicians and advanced practice providers are supported by a strong multi-specialty clinic structure, collaborating with colleagues in pediatrics, internal medicine, otolaryngology, orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, urology, and sports medicine. Consulting physicians are available in neurology, cardiology, and oncology. Our partnership with the University of Minnesota provides access to additional subspecialists for consultations and outreach.
The clinic is affiliated with Fairview Range Medical Center, the largest medical center in the region, featuring state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical technology. Services include:24-hour Emergency Department with board-certified emergency medicine physiciansComprehensive laboratory and diagnostic imaging24-hour respiratory therapyRadiation therapyIntensive Care Unit and Medical/Surgical Pediatric floorPhysical, occupational, and speech therapyCardiac rehabilitationSpecialty clinics including diabetes management and coumadin therapy Key ResponsibilitiesApproximately 50% of the workday will be focused on in-basket management including:Responding to patient MyChart messagesProcessing medication refillsReviewing and managing test resultsHandling patient phone communicationsThe remaining 50% of the workday will be dedicated to direct patient care, including:Addressing acute medical concernsConducting pre-operative evaluationsPerforming other delegated clinical visitsRole HighlightsThis position does not involve maintaining an independent patient panel.
The APP works in close partnership with a team of physicians and APPs to support established patients. Provides an excellent balance of clinical variety and opportunity to practice in a collaborative, multi-specialty environment. QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) programCurrent MN licensure as a Nurse PractitionerCurrent BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindsetFamily Medicine experience required Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
