As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Float, you will provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages. You’ll treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You’ll work independently or alongside a physician, using your clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while recognizing when to escalate care to emergency services.
Essential ResponsibilitiesConduct physical exams and review patient medical historiesOrder and interpret diagnostic tests and imagingDiagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medicationsPerform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and castingDocument patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMREducate and counsel patients on care and preventionAdminister vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as neededPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipMinimum QualificationsMinimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)Nurse Practitioners:Master’s degree in Nursing (required)National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) (required)
& AbilitiesProficiency in urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting)Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttentive listening and patient engagementPreferred QualificationsExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systemsMultilingual communication skillsFamiliarity with telemedicine platformsBasic understanding of medical billing and codingNote: This job description is not inclusive of all duties and responsibilities.
