VariablePosition SummaryThe Registered Professional Nurse provides and coordinates comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes. The RN assesses patient needs, develops and implements appropriate nursing interventions, evaluates outcomes, and involves patients and families in the care process whenever possible. ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesAssesses patients and identifies actual and potential health concerns.

Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing interventions and plans of care. Involves patients, families, and significant others in assessment, planning, and care decisions. Supervises and directs care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.

Assigns and delegates care to qualified members of the healthcare team. Coordinates patient care across healthcare professionals and disciplines. Advocates for patients and promotes safe, compassionate, and individualized care.

Participates in unit-based activities that support a positive and professional work environment. Demonstrates autonomous and accountable nursing practice while promoting teamwork, trust, and collaboration.
