Nurse RN - PRN Obstetrics

📍 Location: Jacksonville, FL 🕒 FTE: PerDiem (.01 FTE) The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters.

Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. All team members will be expected to work all areas of their unit. 3N RNs will be required to work MB, NBN, and attend deliveries. The LD RN will be required to work LD, WAC, LD PACU, and the LD OR.

NICU/NICU SD will be required to work both areas. All Women Service team members will be required to float between units as needed to work within their scope of practice. Qualifications Education & Qualifications Required Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing . BSN Requirement: New hires effective June 14, 2017 , must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must comply with the conditions outlined in their offer letter and the

signed at the time of hire or transfer. Employees hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 are grandfathered under the applicable education requirements. Preferred Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Demonstrates effective teamwork and communicates professionally with all members of the healthcare team. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that impact patient care delivery. Licensure & Certifications Florida RN License: Must be licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida.

BLS: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required for all areas. ACLS: Effective November 20, 2025 , ACLS certification is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer . Effective July 1, 2018 , all current employees were required to obtain certification by July 1, 2019 .

New hires and transfers must obtain AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced certification within one (1) year of hire or transfer if they have no prior training. Effective March 1, 2021 , employees must recertify fetal monitoring every two (2) years , along with the required divisional update based on assigned learning. STABLE Certification: STABLE stands for Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support .

Effective July 1, 2018 , all current employees were required to obtain STABLE certification by July 1, 2019 . New hires and transfers must obtain STABLE certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer . Employees must recertify every two (2) years , based on the date of their most recent certification, and within 72 hours of the end of the month in which their certification expires.

Fellowship RNs must obtain ACLS and NRP certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer . Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training: Required within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter for employees working in the Psychiatric Unit . Required Experience 1–2 years of medical/surgical or related experience.

Preferred Experience One (1) year of clinical experience.
