You’ll need
Licensure
✓Maintain current licensure and professional competency through continuing education and ongoing professional development activities.
✓Current Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the practicing state required.
Certifications
✓Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
✓National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification required.
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within 30 days of hire.
✓Certification must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards and include both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration components.
Education
✓Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
Qualifications
✓Demonstrated knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and patient care techniques.
✓Knowledge of normal human growth and development across the lifespan.
✓Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
✓Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical records and related clinical documentation.
✓Strong customer service and patient-centered care skills.
✓Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
✓Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, interdisciplinary team members, leadership, and other stakeholders.
✓Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
✓Ability to assess patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
✓Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for program growth and service expansion.
✓Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt to changing patient and departmental needs.
✓Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal).
✓Act 34 Criminal Background Check (with renewal).
✓Act 73 FBI Fingerprint Clearance (with renewal).
✓Must successfully complete all required system, facility, department, and role-specific orientations and competencies.
Active participation in professional healthcare organizations is preferred.
