Occupational Therapist

This is a professional position involving the responsibility of evaluating, planning and providing occupational therapy treatment to patients in accordance with written prescription from a qualified provider. In the case of Direct Access, the occupational therapist will evaluate, plan and provide treatment within the guidelines set forth regarding Direct Access. The occupational therapist is responsible to the Director of Rehabilitation for the operation of the department.

Supervision may be exercised over the work of a COTA, Physical Therapy Aides and clerical employees assigned to the service. The Occupational Therapist does related work as necessary or required Key

Performing physical therapy evaluations and treatments using safe, evidence based techniques to infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Developing and implementing new and revised physical therapy care programs including discharge plans. Conducting screenings to determine the need for further examination or referrals to other healthcare professionals within the network.

Collaborating with other personnel to formulate the best possible patient care. Maintaining appropriate documentation of all physical therapy evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, care plans, treatment notes, consultation, and discharge summaries. Assisting in the development of physical therapy policy and procedures.

Initiating wellness and injury prevention education within the facility and the community at large.
