The Occupational Therapy Assistant is a licensed professional who provides treatment for patients in accordance with state and national practice acts. In cooperation with the referral source & occupational therapist, provides therapy treatment designed to improve function, decrease pain, and/or prevent disability. Communicates changes in the patient's condition and/or needs to the occupational therapist to ensure updates to the treatment plan and goals.
Major tasks and duties include, but are not limited to: direct patient care, day to day patient scheduling, supervision of occupational therapy assistant students, consultation with physicians and other team members, documentation in the electronic medical record, quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI), clinical education,...
