Job Summary and Qualifications An Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) administers patient-centered therapeutic treatments across various age groups following a care plan designed by a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities include guiding patients through daily living exercises, tracking progress, and maintaining facility safety standards. Core Responsibilities Administering Care: Carry out delegated treatment programs, therapeutic activities, and physical modalities Patient Monitoring: Track, record, and review patient status changes and responses to treatment Communication: Report updates to the primary Occupational Therapist and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team Safety & Compliance: Participate in infection control protocols, fire safety education, and equipment training Qualifications
Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program (or vocational school graduate) Licensure/Certification: State-specific active COTA/OTA license ( e.g. F L Dept of Health ) Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire) Physical
