The Nurse Cancer Navigator is a Registered Nurse responsible for guiding patients through the continuum of cancer care, from abnormal findings and diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care when appropriate. The Nurse Cancer Navigator serves as a patient advocate, educator, and care coordinator, helping patients overcome barriers to care while ensuring timely access to diagnostic testing, treatment, supportive services, and community resources.
The Nurse Cancer Navigator collaborates with physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes, enhance the patient experience, and support quality cancer care standards.
