This position offers daylight hours Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with start times varying based on clinic schedules.
The Ophthalmic Technician will work alongside ophthalmologists and clinical staff to provide exceptional patient care while performing a variety of diagnostic testing and clinical support duties. The Comprehensive Eye Service cares for patients with a wide range of ophthalmic needs, including follow-up visits from the Urgent Eye Care Center, diabetic eye examinations, comprehensive eye exams, and cataract evaluations.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, patient-focused, and adaptable, as flexibility to support other departments within the building as needed is required. Travel to other UPMC locations is minimal, accounting for less than 5% of the role. Travel to other clinical sites. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in an Ophthalmology office or combination of related education and/or experience preferred.
