ResponsibilitiesNorton Cancer Institute, a part of Norton Healthcare, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician to join its multidisciplinary care team. Norton Cancer Institute is one of the largest comprehensive oncology practices in the region, with over 57% of the market share. Our palliative care program supports oncology patients, along with inpatients hospitalized at Norton Louisville area hospitals and outpatients referred by the Norton Medical Group to the palliative care clinics embedded within NCI.

Job details:0 FTE, 5 days, in personInpatient within 1 of 4 Norton Louisville area hospitals – 2 are well established services, and the others provide the opportunity to build a service Provide consultative services as part of a mature palliative care team including MDs who work 5 days a week, APPs who work 7 on/7 off and provide call and weekend coverage, LCSWs, with robust support from chaplains, music and pet therapists, and close collaboration with behavioral oncologyWork closely with outpatient palliative care team to provide continuity of careCare for a diversity of patients and diagnoses among Norton Louisville area hospitals – close collaboration with the heart failure team, oncologists, hospitalists, and intensivists EPIC EMR, ability to use DAX CopilotQualifications:MD/DOBoard certified or eligible in HPM, having completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in HPMCurrent or eligible for KY medical licenseValid DEA registrationGood team player with excellent communication skills, passionate about practicing and improving the delivery of palliative care
