Certifications
✓EMSVO Certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
Education
✓High school diploma or equivalent required
Qualifications
✓A strong commitment to patient care and community service
✓Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure, unpredictable situations
✓Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
✓Dedication to safety, professionalism, and continuous learning
✓Willingness to complete a two-year work commitment if accepting the sign-on bonus
✓Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 pounds
✓Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
✓Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to different base sites as needed
✓Must be eligible for Medical Command authorization from the Medical Director
✓Completion of UPMC’s orientation program , including classroom training
✓Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and specialized equipment
At least 1 year of experience in EMS (Advanced Life Support level) is preferred
