The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for our patients by delivering compassionate, patient- centered service.
This position is responsible for accurately registering patients, verifying insurance, obtaining required documentation, collecting applicable payments and ensuring a seamless registration experience. The representative serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional customer service during stressful and urgent situations. As a Patient Access Representative, a typical day might include: Performs all duties related to pre-registration, registration, financial clearance, and scheduling Ensures accurate demographic and insurance data, collects patient liabilities, supports billing accuracy, and provides front-line customer service, Ensures patients are oriented to the registration process and communicates operational issues to leadership as needed Answer phones courteously and promptly Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, referrals, and precertifications, Accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information, Collect copays and fees; provide receipts Ensure completion and scanning of required documents consent, rights, directives Greet and assist patients and visitors in a timely, professional manner Schedule appointments, register patients, and process discharges, This role might be for you if: You thrive in a fast-paced environment.
