Job Posting Title: Patient Access Representative (Orthotics/Prosthetics)Location: Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical CenterAdditional Posting Details: Monday - Friday8:00 am - 5:00 pmJob Description: Duties/ResponsibilitiesPre-registration and full registrationObtaining Scottish Rite consent paperwork, notifying patients of patient rights, privacy noticesCollection of identification, guarantor information and insurance coveragesInsurance verificationObtaining co-payments for services renderedPatient intake/referral process and new patient scheduling for some patientsScheduling of follow-up appointments; required coordination with clinical teamManagement of incoming calls (messages, transfers, scheduling)Obtaining and managing referralsManagement and distribution of all incoming departmental faxesScanning of clinical record information and correspondence to EPIC medical recordPatient Access Representative works closely with Patient Access Representative Lead on any issues, patient complaints, etc.

/AbilitiesHigh school degree or equivalent requiredAssociate degree in Secretarial Science or related field preferredKnowledge of hospital/clinic routine or previous medical receptionist experience helpfulA minimum typing speed of 35 wpm requiredAbility to manage multi-line phone system and headset neededDemonstrates basic knowledge of child development in order to communicate effectively with infant, toddler, preschool, school age and adolescent children as well as their families and adultsGood computer and public relations skills needed
