A Day in the Life of a Patient Access - Baxter Clinic Scheduling (PAS) The Patient Access Specialist
• Scheduling is central in accurately scheduling appointments, upholding provider preferences, and ensuring slot availability for optimal patient care. As the primary facilitator of communication, this role ensures clear information exchange between patients, providers, and other departments, enhancing continual care collaboration. The specialist manages and maintains patient data within electronic medical records, verifying and updating insurance and demographic details for compliance and accuracy. Challenges include multitasking under pressure and adapting to varying patient and provider needs swiftly. Daily tasks are balanced with customer service responsibilities, capturing the essence of front-line support and efficient administrative performance. Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills Customer service focused and professional Detail-oriented with accurate data entry skills Resilient and adaptable multitasker Discreet with sensitive patient information Familiar with medical terminology and systems Resourceful with strong problem-solving ability Qualifications Education and Experience Required Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, EMR systems (EPIC preferred), and multi-line phone system Successful completion of data entry standard administered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Human Resources Staff Preferred Prefer High School diploma or GED Previous Patient Access experience Compensation and Benefits The pay range is listed above.
