Job Details Week 1: Tues & Sat 7A-3:30P & Thurs 7:30A-11:30P Week 2: Sun & Thurs 7A-3:30P & Tues 7:30A-11:30P Oversees the daily registration functions within Patient Access’s scope of work. Ensures the operational unit is staff appropriately. Promotes a positive patient experience for patients and families.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, families, and leadership. Supervises efficient and compliant registration processes ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements including adherence to departmental and institutional protocols. Prioritizes responsibilities to complete daily work requirements, resolves departmental and patient problems as needed and monitors key performance metrics to ensure goals are achieved.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Maintains staffing schedules including timely responses to requests for time off. Manages resources to ensure all vacancies are covered with minimum or no overtime.
Ensures the necessary coverage for the smooth and efficient operation of the department Manages on-site operations including MyTime payroll & attendance, downtime support and deposit reconciliation. Adheres to established project deadlines and budgetary limitations. Responds to all patient complaints or stakeholder concerns.
Consistently identifying ways to improve registration processes. Participate in interviewing and hiring new employees. Shares in the education and training of new hires.
Monitors new employee onboarding to ensure new hires are fully trained and competent in their roles and responsibility Provides constructive communication to service delivery areas, as needed. Escalating issues to Patient Access Leadership timely. Appraises staff performance, addresses complaints and resolves issues that may arise, and acts as a mentor for staff.
Manages and tracks staff’s time and attendance for compliance Demonstrates a professional demeanor with patients, families, coworkers and leadership by consistently fostering a positive attitude in the department Ensures regulatory and compliance requirements are met; comply with departmental and institutional protocols Achieves individual and team performance metrics. Completes staff quality assurance reviews. Completes staff’s annual performance evaluation providing feedback on staff member’s performance and achievement of annual goals to the Regional Manager Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required) Knowledge of patient registration, third-party insurance coverage including manage care plans, benefits, authorizations/referrals and coverage requirements Proficient with Computer and Microsoft Office skills and familiar with healthcare EHR applications i.e.
EPIC, Cerner Excellent written and oral communication skillsRequires the use of problem solving and decision-making skills in a variety of complex situations Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills Strong quality assurance and critical thinking skills are necessary for this role Minimum Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in healthcare or business admin required or in lieu of degree a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a physician office/practice, hospital setting, healthcare insurance provider or other healthcare relevant experience AND Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience required Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a physician practice or hospital environment, healthcare insurance provider or other healthcare relevant experience required.
Salary Range $28.96 to $41.27 Hourly The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
