• 4pm during training; 7:30am
• 4:30pm 4 days a week and 7:30am
• 1:30pm 1 day a week after successful completion of training About the Clinic Novant Health New Hanover Primary Care – Myrtle Grove provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to individuals and families throughout the Wilmington community. The practice cares for patients of all ages and focuses on preventive health, acute care and long-term management of chronic conditions. Located on South College Road in Wilmington, the practice offers the resources and support of Novant Health while providing a personalized, community-focused primary care experience.

HIM Responsibilities Maintain accurate and complete patient health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review, audit, index and correct documentation to ensure data integrity Process release of information requests and safeguard patient confidentiality Support documentation standards as needed Utilize EHR systems to manage and retrieve health information Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation Hybrid schedule upon training completion No patient interaction

Knowledge of Hyland OnBase Knowledge of EPIC EHR What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or GED, required.

One year of clerical experience in medical office setting, required. Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience. Additional skills required: Knowledge of medical office software for the following: updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments.

Requires excellent verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with changing priorities. Requires excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to function as part of a team.

Must possess initiative. Basic medical terminology required, knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience. High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems.

Detailed knowledge of multiple payors billing requirements. Familiarity of coding requirements for practice specialty. Additional skills preferred: Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice.
