Responsible for scheduling all aspects of patient care, including referrals, procedures, surgeries etc. Responsible for multiple facets of patient financial account services that include patient benefit assessment, insurance verification, pre-certification, pre-authorizations, pre-determination for services, and referral management.

Assures that patient information and appropriate documentation is documented and uploaded to EPIC. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details:Monday - FridayEducation: High School Diploma or EquivalentLicensure: None

  • Minimum of 1 year medical/clerical experience involving customer service required. Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Proficiency in computers, typing and Microsoft Office. Most possess excellent customer service skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to interact with customers of all ages in a tactful and pleasant manner. Knowledge of medical terminology.Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable in practices involving patient scheduling/pre-authorization/pre-certification/referral process and coordination of other services related to insurance verification.
  • Basic knowledge of self-pay collections, medical terminology, ICD10, and/or a functional understanding of insurance is preferred.
  • Requires excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a complex environment with varying points of view.
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity, exhibit good decision making and judgment capabilities, attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and can interact on a professional level with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Preferred
