Responsibilities NORTON CHILDREN’S ANESTHESIOLOGY, AFFILIATED WITH THE UOFL SCHOOL OF MEDICINE and part of Norton Children’s Medical Group in Louisville, Kentucky, is recruiting multiple pediatric general anesthesiologists to join its growing practice. In this new model, physicians can choose between an all-clinical track or a combined clinical and academic track with the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
The combined track offers an opportunity to explore quality improvement, clinical research, translational research, medical education, child advocacy or community engagement. Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, offers broad support for every stage of research, including study design and statistical analysis. ABOUT THE POSITIONS $100,000 sign-on bonus; up to $45,000 relocation assistance 10 weeks of vacation; one week of continuing medical education $10,000 for continuing medical education Opportunities to support physicians’ individual career interests Employment under a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit healthcare system affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine PEDIATRIC GENERAL ANESTHESIOLOGISTS Comprehensive pediatric clinical practice : Provide anesthetic care across a broad spectrum of pediatric surgical specialties, caring for more than 18,000 patients annually in a high-volume children’s hospital environment.
Diverse inpatient and ambulatory practice : Deliver anesthesia for inpatient and outpatient surgery at Norton Children’s Hospital, with additional ambulatory surgical care at Norton Women & Children’s Hospital, providing variety in both case complexity and practice setting. Exceptional neonatal
Participate in the care of medically complex and premature infants supported by a 101-bed Level IV NICU at Norton Children’s Hospital and a 40-bed Level III NICU at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital, offering extensive exposure to neonatal and high-acuity pediatric anesthesia. Comprehensive pediatric sedation program : Work within and supervise a well-established sedation service providing care for children throughout Norton Children’s Hospital, expanding the scope of practice beyond the operating room.
Highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment : Practice within an integrated children’s healthcare system alongside certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), nurse practitioners, residents, pediatric surgeons, neonatologists, intensivists and procedural specialists. Experienced, cohesive anesthesia team : Join an established, collegial pediatric group recruiting additional full-time and part-time pediatric anesthesiologists and CRNAs, providing support and mentorship for new graduates while allowing experienced physicians to integrate quickly and pursue individual clinical interests.
Academic and teaching opportunities : Participate in resident education through the University of Louisville School of Medicine Anesthesiology Residency Program, with opportunities for teaching, quality improvement and clinical scholarship.
