Partners with physicians and other clinicians to provide treatments and advice to patients, records patient history relating to medication use and ensures the safe and secure storage of medications and related supplies. Advises physicians in determining the best possible treatments for specific diseases, stays current on pharmacy regulations, treatments and developments in research and design.
Pharmacists are the experts on drug therapy and the primary health professionals who optimize use of medication for the benefit of the patients. Meets educational needs of patients, healthcare team, students and residents. Ensures adherence to regulatory and fiscal requirements.

Key Responsibilities % of time Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions 50 Operations: Supervises the operation of the specialty pharmacy, including drug distribution and clinical activities Performs compliance audits on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with the Federal, State, and Medical Center policies Monitors the departmental quality assurance program and facilitates response/ solution to quality assurance issues.

Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D) or equivalent training. (Required) Post graduate year 1 [PGY1] In Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience. (Preferred) Licenses: Registered Pharmacist in the State of California
