✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Registration with the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection as a pharmacy technician is required by completion of probationary period, and active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent certification is required on or within 1 year of date of hire.
Certifications
✓PTCB certifications in Medication Therapy management and Billing and Reimbursement expected within 18 months of hire.
Education
✓High School Diploma or equivalent required with additional broad training in fields such as medical office administration, pharmacy technician, social services or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of Associate's degree program or pharmacy technician training program.
Qualifications
✓Experience with direct patient counseling is required. 3-5 years of retail pharmacy technician experience or specialty pharmacy technician experience preferred. Knowledge of drug products and insurance processing required.
✓Strong customer service skills and independent problem solving is a requirement.
✓Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask frequently and quickly.
✓Must be competent with Microsoft Office applications.
✓Must have patient management expertise, strong time management, and organizational skills.
✓Must possess flexibility, eagerness to learn, and be proactive in approaching the varying needs of our patient population.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry medication patient assistance programs is preferred.
