✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
✓Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified required.
✓No pharmacy technician experience required as long as certified and registered with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy
Certifications
✓Requires IV admixture and chemo certification by the pharmacy department.
Education
✓Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a pharmacy technician training program is desirable. preferred
Qualifications
✓a minimum of 3-6 months of work experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital pharmacy setting desired
✓Requires knowledge of pharmacy work routines, procedures, materials and/or equivalent.
✓Requires knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names and aseptic technique.
✓Requires analytical ability to maintain records, measure drugs, and recognize common computer errors.
✓Requires interpersonal skills to interact with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to obtain, verify and exchange information.
