Physical Therapy Assitant, AAMC

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) working in outpatient/acute care provides treatment under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role implements individualized treatment programs to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. The Physical Therapist Assistant collaborates closely with the Physical Therapist and care team to ensure safe and effective rehabilitation, maintains accurate documentation, and promotes continuity of care across the patient’s episode of treatment.

The Physical Therapy Assistant supports quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives in compliance with organizational policy, state licensure requirements, and applicable accreditation standards.
