The Gastroenterology Physician Assistant (PA) provides specialized care for patients with digestive and liver disorders. This role works closely with gastroenterologists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Provide comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders and diseases. Conduct patient assessments, obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and develop treatment plans. Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging results.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record.
