Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Certified MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care Certified MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients.

Your responsibilities include:Preparing patients for provider visits using the Advanced Standard Rooming Process:Documenting chief complaintsTaking vitals, reviewing history and allergiesCompleting medication reconciliationAddressing care gaps (e.g., screenings, diabetic eye exams)Rechecking elevated blood pressuresDocumenting preventive visit details in Epic🔬 Performing in-office testing:Blood drawsMental status examsEKGsOxygen studiesPoint-of-care testingAdministering vaccines and injections within scopeScheduling follow-up appointments per office policyCollaborating with providers and clinical teams to support care plansQualificationsPrimary Care Assistant – MA🎓

High School Diploma or GED🩺 Certification: BLS required within 90 days of hire⭐ Preferred

6+ months in clinical healthcare, ideally in primary carePrimary Care – Certified MAEducation: High School Diploma or GEDCertification: Active MA certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)BLS: Required within 90 days of hireLPN OptionEducation: Diploma in Practical NursingLicensure: Active LPN licensePreferred
